Episode 1
Momomiya Ichigo has finally gathered the confidence to ask her crush, Aoyama, on a date to the Red Data Animal Show at the museum. Everything's going great, but what Ichigo doesn't know is that she's being watched through the eyes of the flying cat statues. Afterwards, Ichigo is lying on a grassy hillside overlooking the new café while Aoyama goes to get them drinks from the vending machine. Suddenly, the earth begins to shake and Ichigo is hit by a strange beam of red light. A cat then appears before her and when she picks it up, it leaps into her body. When Ichigo finally wakes up, three hours have passed by. The next day at school, strange things start happening to Ichigo. She's suddenly become very athletic, extremely sleepy, and has been munching on fish and she can even predict the weather After trying to talk to Aoyama, Ichigo runs off embarassed because she is adding "nya" to the end of her sentences. After school, Ichigo again spots Aoyama and follows him into the park where he is attacked by a giant rat and knocked unconscious. Right as the rat is about to strike at her, Ichigo is saved by a blonde-haired boy who tells her she must defeat the monster. He then proceeds to push her out of the tree. The boy, Shirogane Ryou, throws Ichigo a pendant and tells her to transform into Mew Ichigo. Using the pendant, she is able to transform and defeat the rat. Bewildered, Ichigo rushes off to check on Aoyama and demands that Ryou explain himself. At about that time Akasaka Keiichiro shows up and tries to smooth things over. Ryou then says "Let's go!" and the episode ends with Ichigo still thoroughly confused.

Episode 2
The episode opens with Keiichiro, Ryou, and Ichigo standing in front of Café Mew Mew. Keiichiro explains that Aoyama has been sent home. Inside the café, Ryou and Keiichiro tell Ichigo about the Mew Project, that aliens have been infecting Earth's animals (turning them into "Chimera Animal" and using them to attack humans, and that these Red Data Animals have DNA that can counter the aliens' powers. Ichigo is now fused with the DNA of an Iriomote Wildcat. Keiichiro gives her R2000 and Ryou says she will have to work as a waitress at the café. He also tells her to go find her other companions. As Ichigo is walking back home, R2000 starts reacting and a dog appears and starts licking Ichigo's face. The owner of the dog is a rich (and somewhat rude) girl who gives Ichigo a silk handkerchief to wipe her face. At school Ichigo searches her friends for strange marks, hoping they are her companions; not so. Aoyama then shows up and Ichigo drops her things. While Aoyama helps her gather her dropped items, she gets excited and her cats ears and tail pop out. Ichigo then leaves in a hurry and tells this to Ryou who doesn't seem very concerned. Ichigo goes to return the handkerchief, thinking that maybe that girl is one of her companions (and since Masha kept reacting when she was around). She gets kicked out of the house, but rushes back when she hears the girl , Aizawa Mint, scream. Her dog, Miki, has turned into a Chimera Anima. Mint does turn out to be the next Mew Mew, and together the two girls manage to defeat the alien and return Miki to normal. Mint then joins the café crew.

Episode 3
While in a hurry to get to school one day, Ichigo runs right into a girl with glasses. The girl then appologizes and gathers the things for a group of girls that are supposedly her friends. Later on the girls show up at the café where Ichigo feels she is being overworked. The girls start discussing the ghost that is rumored to appear at Okumura Daifuzoku Junior High's pool and try to get Lettuce to go there at night. Noticing that the girls are being really mean to her, Ichigo purposely tosses a tray full of pastries at them. Keiichiro then distracts the other girls so Ichigo can talk to the girl with glasses. The girl's name is Midorikawa Lettuce. After the girls have left, Ichigo is trying to sneak out of the café, but Mint drags her to the school anyway (via collar), since this "ghost" sounds like a Chimera Animal. Ichigo is terrified of ghosts, but they find none other than Lettuce at the swimming pool. Out of fear, Lettuce attacks the other girls. Lettuce was really upset when weird things started happening to her and is afraid that she will never have any friends. Luckily, Ichigo tells Lettuce that she knows she is a good person and that they are already friends. Lettuce then promises never to attack them again and joins the group. As Ichigo walks down the sidewalk, Masha alerts her that an alien is nearby and she fears he is broken. Then, an alien drops out of the sky and kisses Ichigo. He introduces himself as Kisshu and phases out, leaving a speechless catgirl.

Episode 4
Ichigo gets kissed by one of the aliens, named Kisshu. Ichigo is really upset, and after being asked on a date (to the Animal Contact Time at the park) by Aoyama, she says she can't go. At the café, Ryou tells Ichigo to go search for the aliens if she has time to sit around and mope and she storms out. Masha then leads Ichigo to the park where Aoyama is waiting. During their date, Ichigo randomly points and says she wants to do "that". It turns out to be the haunted house and of course she is scared to death. Ichigo gets seperated from Masaya and is starting to really freak out, but he finds her and they leave together hand-in-hand. Outside a Chimera Animal has just appeared and Ichigo losses Aoyama in the crowd. After the girls defeat the Animal and chase Kisshu off, Ichigo finds Aoyama and he's really angry with worry. On the way home Aoyama makes Ichigo pinky-swear that she'll never disappear like that again.

Episode 5
On her way to school, Ichigo almost gets run over by a truck, but her cat genes take over and she somersaults through the air and lands unharmed. The members of the rhythmic gymnastics team saw this feat, and they want Ichigo on the team! It's obvious that Ichigo isn't gymnast material, but her cat genes take over and it convinces the team members. Ichigo feels really guilty about this and goes to consult Ryou about it, walking in on him half-naked, and so she runs off without talking to him. Outside, she comes across Aoyama who promises to be at the gymnastics competition. The day of the competition arrives and Ichigo just can't bring herself to move, even with everyone's support. She looks around and Aoyama isn't there. He finally shows up, and Ichigo performs beautifully. A Chimera Animal then attacks. Thanks to Ryou's distraction, the girls are able to rush outside and manage to defeat the alien. Ichigo's team didn't win the competition, but they graciously thank Ichigo for her help.

Episode 6
Ryou's throwing a grand party and he's asked a famous pianoist to play there. Mary McGuire is all the way from San Francisco, and when she meets Ichigo outside the cafe, Ichigo has no idea what she's saying. Aoyama shows up and translates for Mary before the others come outside. Mary plays a piece for them and everyone agrees that it's beautiful. After she leaves, Ryou finds Ichigo outside and gives her the dress he made for her (the other girls got dresses too). At the party, the girls feel pretty awkward (except Mint, who's used to these types of parties). Ryou drags Ichigo onto the dance floor and tries to show her the correct way to dance (after she stepped on his foot ). Lettuce dances with Keiichiro. Afterwards Ichigo goes outside on the balcony to get some fresh air when Ryou shows up and offers her some juice. He goes back inside and Ichigo notices Mary below her. Just then, Kisshu shows up and steals Mary's spirit to fuse it with a Chimera Animal. The monster is much stronger than normal and the Mew Mews are having a lot of trouble fighting it. Ryou then tells Keiichiro to turn up the sound system all the way, while playing a recording of Mary's music. Ryou then jumps infront of Ichigo to block the wind created by the Chimera Animal's instrument. The pure music helps weaken the monster and the girls are able to defeat it and return Mary's spirit to her. At the end Ichigo silently thanks Shirogane for what he did.

Episode 7
Ichigo and Masha are out getting groceries for the café. On the way back they stop at the park where a yound yellow-haired girl is performing. Ichigo is amazed by her show, but when the girl asks for a tip, all Ichigo can give her is candy. The girl then follows Ichigo, startling her so that her cat ears pop out. Ichigo then tries to cover it up as part of the act and then runs off with her. After finally letting the girl go (and after she promised not to say anything about the ears), she starts jumping around and then begs Ichigo to be her teacher and to tell her how she can earn cat ears. Ichigo then tricks her into going off in another direction so that she can leave and bumps into Lettuce. Ichigo thinks Shirogane was worried about her, but Lettuce corrects Ichigo's assumption and tells her that he simply told her to bring Ichigo back since she was skipping work. They then run into the yellow-haired girl again and after being chased around the city, Ichigo stops at a bench for a breath when Pudding reappears with her handkerchief. Ichigo finally asks her who she is and says that a normal elementary student wouldn't be trying to earn money like that. Ichigo then basically tells Pudding to leave her alone and walks off. In the park, Pudding is confronted by Kisshu, who tells her he's an angel. Pudding isn't stupid and says that angels aren't scary like that. Ichigo feels really guilty about being so mean to Pudding, and Aoyama finally convinces her to find the girl and appologize. Ichigo then finds Pudding with Kisshu who is trying to steal her spirit to create a new Chimera Animal. The girls come to Pudding's rescue but Kisshu uses a spirit from the day before to create a reptillian Chimera Animal. Ichigo's handkerchief falls out of Pudding's pocket, she sees Ichigo in trouble and goes to save her, growing monkey ears in the process. Pudding then transforms and together the girls defeat the monster. Pudding returns Ichigo's handkerchief and then joins the Café Mew Mew team.

Episode 8
The girls have won a trip to the hot springs. They are deep in the mountains, but when the girls finally get to the location, there's nothing there. Lettuce then realizes that the date on the invitation is for next year. Making the best of the situation, the girls have a picnic lunch infront of a shrine. Just then "Aoyama" shows up. He doesn't seem very happy and doesn't even recognize Ichigo. This is because he isn't Aoyama, but a boy named Aoyamada. He lives in the mountains here and is upset about the construction of the hot springs resort because it is scaring off the others and ruining the forests. The girls later find a natural hot spring and dive in, but the construction workers appear. Aoyamada tries to stop them, saying that the forest god, Bachigappa is angry at them. A huge creature appears which is none other than a Chimera Animal created from Aoyamada's spirit. The girls are able to defeat it and return the boy's spirit. At the end of the episode, Aoyamada's other friend reappears and the construction is likely to be halted because of the villager's protests and the forest god's rage.

Episode 9
Ichigo's going on a date with Aoyama but has nothing to wear. Mint agrees to let Ichigo borrow one of her dresses and the others tag along. At Mint's mansion, the girls notice a young man who is Mint's brother. It seems that Mint and her older brother don't talk much anymore because he's always away working. In Mint's closet, Ichigo finds a photograph of the two siblings and realizes that Mint must still care deeply for him. The girls then try their best to stop the limosine and beg Mint's brother, Seiji, to come to her performance, but to no avail. After seeing a flower stand on the side of the street, he becomes determined to make it to the show. A Chimera Animal shows up and Seiji protects Mint. After defeating it, Mint tells her brother that he shouldn't waste his time there, but he insists that he wants to see her perform and that they will always be brother and sister regardless of distance.

episode10.jpg

Episode 10
There's an article in the newspaper about a girl with ears and a tail who is saving people from monsters. Has one of the Mew Mews been caught on camera? With some quick scissor-work and a photo from the hot springs trip, Pudding determines it's none of them. However, Mint comes in with a photobook of the gorgeous actress Zakuro Fujiwara and her silhouette matches perfectly! Ryou suggests that the girls go to the talent audition to see if Zakuro is the final member. After being left behind, Pudding appears with her fire-breathing trick and upsets the judges so much that they tell everyone to go home, but Zakuro intervenes and mangages to keep the audition running smoothly. Mint asks Zakuro if she is their companion and the actress coldly answers that she doesn't know what she's talking about, that she only wanted to keep the audition from turning into chaos. The girls return to the café with Mint being pretty down. That night Masha wakes Ichigo up to tell her that the fifth member is in danger! The girls meet at the cathedral where Kisshu appears with a swarm of crows, planning to kill the last Mew Mew. Finally she transforms and turns out to be none other than Zakuro. She defeats the crows, saving the girls. Mint tries to hug her, however Zakuro shoves her off, refusing to join because she doesn't like friends. She tells Mint that girls like her are annoying and leaves.

episode11.jpg

Episode 11
Continuing from the previous episode. Mint's acting really weird because she was hurt badly by Zakuro's words, but Ichigo's determined to unite the team. The girls try everything they can think of, but can't seem to find the opportunity to speak to Zakuro. They decide they must find her when she is alone, but Kisshu beats them to it. He tells Zakuro that he can return her body to normal if she will work for him. The girls walk in on this scene and are shocked. Kisshu then sends Lettuce, Mint, and Pudding into another dimension and says they'll come back only if Ichigo and Zakuro fight and the winner works for him. After he disappears, Zakuro tries to pick up Lettuce's glasses, but Ichigo (who is crying) smacks her hand away angrily and blames her for everything. Zakuro walks away saying it has nothing to do with her. Ichigo then goes to consult Ryou and Keiichiro. They tell her that Kisshu's terms are a lie, but Keiichiro discovers that the girls are still alive. Ryou asks Ichigo if she can believe that Zakuro is a friend. She says she can, so Ryou says that she should tell Zakuro her feelings. Keiichiro comments that Zakuro's light whip may be able to break into the dimension. At the TV studio, Ichigo finally comes across Zakuro who realizes that she didn't come to fight. When Zakuro is on the air (notice that the lady is named Mia Yoshida?) a Chimera Animal attacks and Kisshu goes after Ichigo. The dimension the girls are in is shrinking rapidly, but Zakuro manages to break through and save them. Ichigo is badly hurt and the Animal is about to deliver the final blow (despite a protest from Kisshu) when the girls reappear. Their powers begin resonating and Ichigo gets up with renewed determination to defeat the monster. The TV crew then shows up and the Mew Mews, now united, are actually on national television. The five girls now make the defenders of justice.

Episode 12
Tokyo Mew Mew is all over the media, but despite her new fame, Ichigo isn't so sure she likes this lifestyle. Aoyama takes her to Inohara Park where there is a strange phenomenon, a cherry tree blooming in June. Ichigo gets to work late where Keiichiro has made a cake to celebrate the group's being together. Ryou interrupts and calls a meeting in the basement, explaining more about the Mew Project. They find out that five cherry trees are creating poison and will soon disperse toxins into the air that will destroy all life in Tokyo! The girls must attack all five trees at once, the central location being the tree Ichigo had visited with Aoyama earlier. Ichigo volunteers to go there, and when she arrives finds Kisshu waiting for her. Distracted, the other girls have already used their powers and the other trees and are waiting for her to use her Strawberry Bell on the last one. The tree infront of Ichigo begins releasing its petals into the air. Despite the danger, Ichigo finally leaps forward towards the tree and destroys all of its flowers. Kisshu fades and Ichigo turns around when she hears someone calling her name. It's Masaya. Has he figured out her identity?

episode13.jpg

Episode 13
Ichigo's really worried that Aoyama has discovered that she's a Mew Mew, so she goes out of her way to avoid him. However, despite her many tries she always ends up bumping into him right when she starts acting like a cat. Kisshu decides that he will go after Aoyama in order to make Ichigo "his". At work, the girls notice that Ichigo is extremely gloomy and try to cheer her up. When Aoyama shows up at the café, Ichigo hides under a table and tells the girls she isn't there (of course Pudding can't hear her, and when Ichigo repeats herself, she tells Aoyama "She says she isn't here!"). Ichigo finally decides to go cheer Aoyama on at the Kendo tournament, but she can't get close because there are so many other girls there. Aoyama spots her anyway and chases after her. Right as he's about to ask her if she's a Mew Mew, Kisshu's new monster attacks. Ichigo finally forgets her fear and transforms to save Aoyama. The monster was created from cells, so it continues to split into smaller versions of itself and they are suffocating Aoyama. Kisshu says he'll let Aoyama go on the condition that she'll be his. She refuses, kicks Kisshu and dives in to save Aoyama. Miraculously she is able to reach his hand and a bright light appears. After that Ichigo is able to defeat the Chimera Animal. Aoyama appologizes to Mew Ichigo for calling her by Ichigo's name, and then finds Ichigo lying on the floor outside the classroom. Outside Ichigo is acting cheerful again. Aoyama thanks her for coming to the tournament and puts a bell around her neck, saying that this way she won't get lost. At the end of the episode Taruto and Pai appear.

episode14.jpg

Epsiode 14
Taruto and Pai are talking with Kisshu. It seems that Kisshu will have to sit this next one out. Ichigo goes to the park, but Aoyama isn't there. A butterfly stops to rest in her hair and suddenly Ichigo's caught in a net! The net belongs to Nishina Rei, a lady who has been studying butterflies. Meanwhile, Akasaka-san is acting really strangely. He is putting all of his time and energy into making a birthday cake, but the girls can't seem to figure out whose birthday it is. Ichigo again goes to the park to look for Aoyama (who again isn't there). Another butterfly appears and so does Rei, who accidentally knocks her into the lake while trying to catch it. They both end up falling in and Rei invites Ichigo back to her apartment to dry off. Ichigo is amazed at all of the butterflies Rei has collected and tells her she is very kind. Rei says she's the second person to have said that. Ichigo notices that Rei's desk calendar has the same date circled on it as the calendar at the café. Rei tells her it's her birthday and Ichigo explains that a friend of hers has been making a cake for this day, but that Rei probably didn't know Akasaka Keiichiro. Ichigo arrives at work late and peers in on Akasaka, who is still at it. Ryou finds her there and tells her it's a cake for Akasaka's old girlfriend and to quit being so nosy. Ichigo bursts through the back door and together the girls (who haven't left yet either) convince Keiichiro to take her the cake. They arrive at her apartment only to find that they have used Rei's spirit to create another Chimera Animal. Keiichiro rushes to save her, but he drops the cake in the process. After Rei's spirit is restored and the Chimera Anima is defeated, Rei finally manages to say goodbye to the man she loves and to let go of her past so that they can both continue down their own paths. The girls don't understand why they can't be together, but Zakuro explains that now Rei can be free.

episode15.jpg

Episode 15
Masha wants to help Ichigo! The girls come up with all sorts of secret powers that the little puffball may possess, but Keiichiro explains that he wasn't made that way. While fighting a Chimera Anima, Masha tries to join the girls in battle by biting the monster, but ends up getting knocked through the air and swallowed! The monster then gets a stomach ache and it and Tart return to the alien dimension. The girls then realize that Masha is missing! In the alien dimension, Masha is found and Pie insists on doing tests on him. Masha refuses to give the aliens any information, and sends an S.O.S. back to Shirogane and Akasaka at the café, allowing them to get a good idea of where the alien dimension is. The girls go to save Masha, but their first attempt is a failure. Finally, Masha's signal dies altogether and they fear he has been broken. Shirogane tells Ichigo "it's not like you can't fight without the R2000", but Ichigo refuses to fight again without Masha by her side. Shirogane then gives her a new weapon which is part of the Strawberry Bell. The girls finally make it into the alien dimension, but the aliens have the upper hand when they trap them behind virtual walls with the Chimera Anima. Masha finally comes to and realizes that Ichigo and the other girls are in danger. He manages to break free and miraculously has enough strength to knock over the bubble controlling the virtual walls holding the girls captive. Ichigo then runs to Masha, thanks him, and tells him that she always believed in him. The new weapon then starts reacting and the Chimera Anima is defeated at last. Back in their own dimension, Ichigo makes the little robot promise never to do something like that again. Masha then thanks all of the girls and promises.

Lettuce has taken an interest in Edomurasaki-san, a young man that freqents the library. Ichigo learns of Lettuce's crush, so ofcourse all of the other girls find out. They advise Lettuce that she should tell him how she feels. It seems like Edomurasaki-san may actually like Lettuce as well. He comments that he wishes he could smile like Lettuce does, and that's when she tells him it is because of the support and encouragement she gets from her friends. Lettuce prepares a box lunch at home to take to him. She reaches the library and waits a long time, but he doesn't show. He finally arrives, but right as Lettuce says she was thinking of him, Pie appears with a group of book-devouring Chimera Animal. Lettuce stays behind and transforms to help out the others. The Mew gang discovers that Masha was able to retrieve data on the aliens when he was kidnapped, and they learn about the alien's past on Earth and begin to better understand why they are attacking humans. Masaya and Ichigo later discuss what they plan to do at a little restaurant and Ichigo gets so excited that her ears and tail are popping out all over the place. At the café, however, Ryou realizes that Ichigo sounds like she's getting sick. Ichigo tries to brush it off, but Ryou isn't convinced. He leaves before finishing everything he was going to say, and Keiichiro later suggests that maybe he was going to say that he'd always be there to protect Ichigo. The next day Ichigo's stuck in bed with an awful case of the flu, but her friends and Masaya arrive to try to cheer her up. As Masaya is leaving he bumps into Ryou who is heading in the direction of Ichigo's house and asks if he's going to see her. Ryou says "not really", yet the friction between these two guys is apparent. The aliens then show up and the other Mew Mews must battle with Chimera Animal. Kisshu pays Ichigo a visit, but she leaps off the balcony and runs off to transform. Ichigo is way too weak to fight and is losing badly when a mysterious knight in blue appears and tells her he'll protect her.

episode18.jpg

The Blue Knight and Kisshu begin to fight. Meanwhile, the other Mew Mews are battling the Chimera Animas that Pie and Tart have created. Zakuro comes to Mint's aid. The girls rush to the scene of the fight and the aliens - outnumbered - retreat. Blue Knight tells Ichigo that he was born to protect her and walks off into the summer sunlight. Just then Ryou shows up and catches Ichigo after she faints. Masaya hasn't forgotten his promise to take Ichigo on a date and they plan to meet. The girls begin to think that maybe Ryou is in fact The Blue Knight, and Pudding (in a spiffy detective's outfit) is certain of it. Ryou asks who this guy is and claims he didn't see him, to which Pudding starts crying because all of her deducing went to waste. ^^; While at the amusement park with Masaya, Ichigo keeps imagining that she sees Ryou, and everyone notices that she is acting very weirdly. Masaya leaves (after much appologizing on Ichigo's part) as she admits to Lettuce and Pudding that she believes that Ryou really was the Blue Knight. She goes back to the café late to prepare for work tommorrow and Ryou sees that she's alone. He then asks her if she'd like to go to the beach.

episode19.jpg

Episode 19
The café gang all go to the beach, but Lettuce is off by herself and hasn't gotten in the ocean. The truth is that Lettuce doesn't know how to swim. The girls then see a bunch of boys picking on a little girl named Iruka. It turns out that Iruka also will not swim so Lettuce suggests that perhaps the two of them can learn together. Lettuce finally takes the plunge (literally) but almost drowns. When she wakes up the girls are around her and Iruka admits that it just can't be done. Lettuce has about given up herself until Ryou tells her to have more faith in herself. It's too early to quit now. The next day while the other girls are playing beach volleyball, Pie and Tart appear with a group of sea creature Chimera Animas. Lettuce tells Iruka to stay there and the Mew Mews go off to fight them. However, with the storm the aliens created, one of the boys falls into the ocean, so Iruka goes to save him. Lettuce then jumps in after them. She finally believes in herself and is able to tap into the powers of the Finless Porpoise and grow a dolphin tail, allowing her to save both of the children. The aliens are defeated and Lettuce and Iruka are both able to believe in themselves.

Pudding's mother had died and her father is often away perfecting his martial arts skills, so Pudding has to take care of her five younger siblings by herself. The girls go to pick up her sister, but the little girl won't go with them - until Pudding appears. The girls, however, follow Pudding home and insist on helping her out until she gets better. The next day Pudding says she is feeling fine, but the daycare lady seems to think she is still overworking herself. They reach Pudding's house and Tart appears and makes a chicken Chimera Anima out of the woman's spirit. Pudding is not at her best and is doing poorly until the other girls show up. The Chimera Anima is defeated. Pudding and the daycare lady are talking and she offers to pick up Pudding's sister for her so she won't have to work so hard. Pudding then says then she won't get to see her and asks if she could just pretend to be her mother. The lady says yes and Pudding starts crying on her lap.

episode21.jpg

Episode 21
The episode opens with Mint having an odd dream. Ichigo and Mint have been arguing lately. Ichigo says that Mint never does anything, but Mint points out that Ichigo is the one who is always late. After Zakuro tells her to stop it, Mint leaves. The next day a package arrives at the café from Mint which contains her uniform and pendant. The girls are confused as to what this means and everyone things Ichigo should go appologize but she refuses. Zakuro goes to tell Ryou about Mint's departure and he agrees that she should do whatever possible to bring Mint back (this part's really cute ^^). Zakuro then goes to Mint's house and attacks her as Mew Zakuro. Miki appears behind Mint and Zakuro is about to strike him, but Mint jumps up to save her puppy, saying that he's not to be involved and that she'd never let anyone hurt him. Zakuro asks Mint is she has now found the reason for fighting. The other girls are fighting a Chimera Anima that the aliens have fused with a fragment of the Mew Aqua. Mint transforms to help the others and she and Ichigo (who is stunned that she's back) work together to defeat it. Afterwards, the girls become drenched by the shattered Mew Aqua. They go back to Mint's house where they change into pajamas and have a pillow fight. Mint and Ichigo seem to have forgiven each other. Outside Miki finds Zakuro and she tells him that he put on a great performance and they share a "thumbs up".

episode22.jpg

Episode 22
Summer's almost over and Ichigo realizes she hasn't done any of her school work! Unfortunately for her, Moe is also rushing to finish and Miwa is away on vacation with her family in Okinawa. The next victim is Masha. Robots are supposed to be smart like that, right? Well... ^^; Ichigo then decides to do her work herself, but her cellphone starts ringing off the hook and she stupidly agrees to a date with Aoyama. When she finally meets up with him, Lettuce calls to say there's trouble, and Ichigo has to rush off to the cafe. When she arrives, the only *trouble* is that Keiichiro and Ryou are trying to fix the broken waterpipes and need her to help clean up the mess. Taking advantage of the situation, Ichigo asks her friends to help. Zakuro refuses, Mint will only work for money, and Lettuce tells Ichigo she must do her homework herself. Finally Ichigo asks Keiichiro, but he just tells her to ask Ryou for help. Ryou seems to agree to it, until he explains that he'll need to be paid (and the price is 2000 yen per subject when even Mint said only 800 yen XD). The girls then must rush off to fight Chimera Animas. They only find Tart who seems in a good mood and is enjoying Earth candy (Pie and Kisshu ditched him because of the heat). The girls are finally able to defeat the cicada, but when Ichigo says something about not having her homework done, Tart summons more of the bugs and leaves. Saving the world does come before homework afterall.

episode23.jpg

Episode 23
Ichigo has invited Moe and Miwa to the cafe for sweets. She tells the two of them they should be more concerned with love than food, and they tell her that they have found someone. Later at school, Moe and Miwa explain to Ichigo how they met, Ryou saved Moe from a group of boys on the street and Miwa met Keiichiro when she was buying tea. Ichigo is having a hard time with their crushes on her employers, but agrees to help. Moe and Miwa seem to notice things that she never saw in them before. Moe makes Ryou a boxed lunch and Miwa writes Keiichiro a beautiful poem, and the girls go off to the cafe to deliver the gifts. However, the two boys are busy searching for a possible Mew Aqua (Ichigo believes they are just ignoring her friends). Moe and Miwa walk off depressed but leave the gifts at the register. Ichigo then stomps through the woods in a rage and ends up kicking a can right at Ryou's head. They then explain to her what they are up to, but as expected, Kisshu shows up and turns Moe and Miwa's spirits into Chimera Animas, who then go after Ryou and Keiichiro. After defeating the Animas, Moe and Miwa are awakened at the cafe and both Ryou and Keiichiro thank them for caring. Moe and Miwa then decide to start fanclubs for both of them.

This young girl desperately wants a certain stone to be in the show, but her employer won't allow it. Ichigo befriends Tsukiko and the two go to Zakuro, but she refuses to wear it if Tsukiko cannot ask her employer. Ryou and Keiichiro believe that this "Rainbow Stone" has properties linked to the Mew Aqua. Tsukiko goes to her employer once again and explains that the gem has the power to make a girl shine, and he rudely responds that in that case she should wear it. The aliens come for the stone, but it turns out that the stone has no special powers. Afterwards the show continues, and the last person on stage is Tsukiko herself wearing a wedding dress and the Rainbow Stone; proving that the stone really does make women shine. At the end of the episode, Pudding and Tart are still fighting over the supposed "Mew Aqua".

Episode 25
People at school are starting to notice Aoyama and Ichigo's relationship, and a lot of the upperclass girls are jealous of her. However, Aoyama has noticed that Ichigo's been very busy lately. The girls must search underground for Tokyo's mysterious Mew Aquas, but the aliens are also out to find it. Kisshu comes up with a plan to destroy Tokyo and attaches a cocoon to the top of the Tokyo Tower. He tells Tart that when it hatches, a giant adult moth will spread toxins over the city. The girls, though, are having no luck with the Mew Aquas, and Masha finds the cocoon but then decides it's a bird's nest at the last second and flits off. Aoyama actually waits for Ichigo after school, and it makes her very sad that she can't spend more time with him. She gets so angry infact that she blows up and takes it out on Ryou (who was being his usual self anyway). Keiichiro and Ryou have been studying an old archaeological find, which is a strange rod. Ichigo's mood is bad the following day too, and as she is running away after yelling at Aoyama, she feels faint and he insists on taking her to the nurse's office. Aoyama later invites her on a date, which puts her in good enough spirits to appologize to Ryou and get back to finding the Mew Aqua. While in the sewers, the girls get a message from Keiichiro that there is a ginat cocoon about to hatch from the top of Tokyo Tower.

episode26.jpg

Episode 26
The Mew Mews and Ryou hurry across Tokyo's streets to the tower where the cocoon is continuing to grow. Keiichiro on the otherhand is speeding to get there. Meanwhile Aoyama's sensei commends him on admitting his feelings for Ichigo. The aliens soon arrive at the tower as well. Keiichiro tells Ryou to get them to close the tower off from the public and the girls transform. The aliens are slowing the girls down, but even when they do manage to reach the cocoon, their attacks seem to have no effect on it. The boys then discover that this is all just a diversion and that they have other Chimera Animas underground searching for the Mew Aquas, but they decide that the first thing that must be done is to destroy the cocoon. However, all attempts are too late and a huge moth erupts from the cocoon and begins spilling poisonous dust over the city. The girls' attacks are not strong enough to defeat it. Ichigo falls from the moth's back, and is plummeting to her doom, until she is caught once again by the Blue Knight. At this point it seems like all hope is left in finding the Mew Aqua. It begins to rain, and Ichigo tells Kisshu that she will never let him get away with destroying Tokyo. Ichigo's emotions take hold of her and she begins shedding tears which activate the Mew Aqua. Kisshu gives her one more chance to defeat him, and Ichigo dives after her to reach the Mew Aqua first. Unfortunately, Ichigo cannot get close enough to the Mew Aqua. Ryou, who had run off with the artifact, appears and tosses the case at her. Ichigo grabs the rod and it changes into the Mew Aqua Rod and she starts speaking in Latin(?). The other girls do their best to hold the moth inside their barrier as the Mew Aqua bubbles cover Tokyo. The moth is defeated, but Kisshu opens up a portal to the alien dimension and uses the attack to strengthen Deep Blue and reveal part of his form. The girls congratulate Ichigo, (even Ryou seems truly awed that they were able to defeat the moth) and then tell her to hurry off because she is late for her date. Ichigo thanks her friends and runs off through the rain to meet Aoyama.

Episode 27
Ichigo runs through the streets in the rain, hoping against hope that Aoyama is still waiting for her to show up. When she arrives at the agreed upon spot, no one is there. Ichigo sinks to her knees and thinks that he must hate her now, but as she gets up to leave, she notices Aoyama standing there. Ichigo tries to explain to him why she is late, but realizes she can't. Aoyama then admits his love for Ichigo, but she gets so excited that she scampers off to hide her ears. Aoyama is going to leave, thinking she doesn't have the same feelings, but she throws his handkerchief over her ears and tells him that she loves him too. Aoyama and Ichigo then hug for a prolonged time in the pouring rain. Later Ichigo shows up at the cafe and the girls are acting strangely. They think Aoyama has dumped her, but after she explains that they both have feelings for each other, the girls are shocked... even more so when Aoyama shows up from behind the other door. Not all is well however, and the aliens attack the cafe and are looking for the Mew Aqua Rod. Ryou gives Aoyama a sleeping drug to knock him out, and the girls prepare to take on the aliens. Ichigo runs into the room where Aoyama is after hearing a loud noise, and Pudding comes to her aid, only to blurt out that Keiichiro has disappeared into the basement for the rod (Ryou then calls Pudding a "stupid girl" X-x;;). Keiichiro throws the rod at Ichigo, but Kisshu gets inbetween them, however, the rod does not react at all. It seems the rod was changed, but it can only store the energy from the Mew Aqua, not create it. They then take Aoyama outside and begin cleaning the cafe. Ichigo is relieved his is okay and bends over close to him, getting herself excited... however, instead of just ears, Ichigo turns herself into a little black kitten.

episode28.jpg

Episode 28
Ichigo was bending over Aoyama when all of a sudden she got so excited that she turned herself into a cat... and ofcourse, she freaks out! Back at the cafe the others are cleaning up the mess left buy the aliens when they discover many tufts of black hair. Mint says it's rude for Ichigo to let the hair from her tail everywhere. Keiichiro motions for Ryou to some into the kitchen and explains that Ichigo may have turned herself into a cat. Ryou then offers to go out and look for her. Meanwhile, Ichigo is running into all sorts of horrible things as a cat: she is almost run over, attacked by kindergarteners, and what's worse, this huge ugly fat cat (a la Francis) shows up and tries to persuade her to date him. Ichigo runs off and bumps right into a dog. Just when she thinks her life is over, Aoyama shows up. He sees that she is all dirty and takes her into his house and cleans her up. Meanwhile, Ichigo's mother is worried sick and Ryou can't find her anywhere. Aoyama finally falls asleep and Ichigo gets the silly idea in her head to kiss him. She is only a cat afterall, so it's no big deal. When she tries to do so, the dog gets in the way and Ichigo ends up changing back. Aoyama then stirs in his slip and holds onto Ichigo, but she manages to sneak away. Ichigo opens the window, but now that she is human, the dog is trying to kiss her and she changes back into a cat. She finally escapes out the window. Ichigo then realizes she has to be kissed in order to change back. After more unfortunate circumstances, Ichigo again comes face to face with Francis. Kissing him *would* help her to change back, but who would want to kiss that?! A gray kitten with a green bandana comes to Ichigo's rescuse and scares off Francis. Everything seems fine, but an abandoned bike falls over and Ichigo gets knocked into the river. Now Ichigo is drowning, but she sees Aoyama coming towards her, when the illusion fades, the little gray cat is swimming down after her and he tells her his name is Alto right before she blacks out. Ichigo awakens to see Ryou over her and the gray kitten is nowhere to be seen. Ryou explains to her that the cat genes have been taking over and that she needs to defeat the aliens as soon as possible. The others are alerted to Ichigo's safety and Keiichiro tells the girls what happened. Ichigo threatens to sue Ryou and he just laughs at her. Ryou then offers to walk her home and appologizes to Ichigo.

episode29.jpg

Episode 29
While Ichigo is out, she runs into a cat coming from a subway and actually hears him speak. When she arrives at the cafe, the same calico cat is pecking on the window. He introduces himself as Asano, but only Ichigo can understand him. Asano has a problem. He has fallen in love with a beautiful lilac point Siamese named Jacqueline. The issue is that she is being taken by her owner to a cat show for purebred cats to find a breeding mate. Since Asano is a stray, her owner doesn't want him anywhere near him since she is all he has left that was precious to his late wife. The girls do a bit of a paint job and take Asano to the show as a lilac point Siamese. Eventually though, a tank is knocked over and the poor cat's true colors are revealed. There seems to be no hope and all he wants is for Jacqueline to be happy. The main runner for a chance to be with Jacqueline, however, is turned into a Chimera Anima. Asano does his best to protect his love, while the girls take care of the monster. Jacqueline's owner finally realizes how much the two cats want to be together, and says that no other cat would be fit to be Jacqueline's lover besides Asano.

Episode 30
Ichigo's worried about her relationship with Masaya, so her friends Moe and Miwa advise her to go talk to Mariko-senpai. Mariko is known for telling peoples' fortunes through her crystal ball. Ichigo is a bit scared at first, but then she's utterly amazed. However, when Ichigo asks about her relationship with Masaya, Mariko tells her that he's a bad guy and that she should just forget it (::cough::). Ichigo explains that Masaya isn't like that at all, so Mariko again looks into her crystal ball and tells Ichigo that she needs to be more honest about her feelings. After school Ichigo notices Mariko watching a guy named Shunsuke. Later on the roof, Mariko tells his fortune and advises him to tell the girl he loves (he was with another girl when Mariko was watching him) his feelings at the park tommorrow. Ichigo is eavesdropping so she hears everything. That evening Ichigo runs into Masaya and he appologizes for being so busy. The next day Ichigo decides to go to the park to talk to Shunsuke about Mariko and bumps into none other than Mariko herself. Kisshu then appears to take the crystal ball which he believes is a Mew Aqua. He uses Shunsuke's spirit to create an elephant Chimera Anima. Ichigo is having a really hard time against the Chimera Anima when the Blue Knight comes to her aide. The other girls appear and are trying to wrestle the ball away from Kisshu when he drops it. They tell Ichigo to grab it but Kisshu and Ichigo both go for it at the same time, miss, and butt heads with each other (see, I love that picture! XD). The ball shatters. It turns out that it wasn't the Mew Aqua after all, but luckily Shunsuke is able to tell Mariko that it was her that he liked.

After finding out that Ichigo has a boyfriend, Shintaro, her enraged father challenges Aoyama to a Kendo match. Only if Aoyama wins can he and Ichigo stay together. Of course, Aoyama accepts. Meanwhile, Ichigo and her mother are going through an old photo album and Sakura explains to her daughter how protective Shintaro has been of her since she was very small at birth (the doctors couldn't assure them that Ichigo would make it). Ichigo then rushes off to stop the fight and by doing so reminds her father of another Kendo match long ago...

Mint's family is holding a grand tea party and the girls are invited. Lots of political leaders and celebrities are going to be there. In the midst of everything, a spoiled rich girl named Saionji Kanna arrives claiming to be Mint's "eternal rival". Mint basically ignores her, admitting later to Zakuro that she may have been like Saionji once. Saionji's parents had gotten her whatever she wanted, even bought her friends. Kisshu then arrives to take a box that contains a Mew Aqua. By teaming up, Mew Ichigo and Mew Mint save the day. The box really contains a special tea that Mint ordered to share with the other girls. They invite Saionji to join them and she leaves with a better understanding of what friendship truly is.

Episode 33
The episode starts out with the Mew Mews fighting against Tart and a cactus anima. Pudding is about to get hit by the monster's needles when a mysterious young man shows up and defeats it single-handedly. Pudding recognizes the style as the "Yellow Monkey" fighting style that her father teaches. The man introduces himself as Yuebin and challenges Pudding to a match. Upon Pudding's loss (she drops the plates that she was balancing), Yuebin declares that Pudding is to be his betrothed. Pudding is very confused and everyone agrees that she is too young to even consider marriage. Yuebin explains that the marriage will not take place for a while, atleast not before his master reveals the secret of this martial arts style. Yuebin is determined to do whatever he can to win Pudding over, but while he is taking care of her siblings, he accidentally knocks over Pudding's special photo album and she runs off in tears. Meanwhile, Ryou and Keiichiro have detected the aliens at the stadium where there is a boxing match. Pudding refuses to go, but the other girls hurry off to face Kisshu and another Chimera Anima. Pudding is then kidnapped by Tart, despite Yuebin's attempts to save her. Tart brings Pudding to the stadium and she is about to be knocked out by the Chimera Anima when Yuebin appears and uses a special technique to switch bodies with her. Pudding then helps Ichigo finish off the Chimera Anima. Yuebin goes on his way to continue in his training, and he and Pudding come to understand each other better.

There's a charity auction being held and Lettuce helps out by selling some of the plush dolls she has made herself. By evening only one doll is left, and a girl comes looking to buy it. That girl is 18-year-old Uemura Ayano, who is a famous doll-maker. She invites Lettuce to come to her workshop where they can work together to create a new doll for an upcoming show. They finally finish the doll, and Ayano offers to take it with her, but when the girls arrive at the show, they find that she has taken credit for making it. Ichigo angrily chases after her, but is stopped by Ryou who tells her that this is between Lettuce and Ayano. Kisshu appears and uses Ayano's spirit to make a Chimera Anima. The girls underestimate it because it has only one attack, and they soon find themselves caught in a web created by the dolls. Lettuce is able to break everyone free using her castanets. It seems Ayano had run out of fresh ideas and envied Lettuce's creativity. Lettuce tells her she doesn't care who gets credit for the doll as long as it makes other people happy.

Episode 35
Ichigo goes to deliver a birthday cake to a little girl at the daycare center. The little girl, Momoka, is a HUGE fan of Fujiwara Zakuro and wants to grow up to be just like her (she insists she's on a diet and says the cake has too many calories ^^;). Aoyama points out that the girl doesn't interact with the other children, and Ichigo tells Zakuro about her little fan. Mint is driving Ichigo and Zakuro home from work and they notice that Momoka is alone and hasn't been picked up yet. Later, Zakuro is eating dinner in a fancy restaurant with some businessmen and notices the little girl all by herself. The waiter tells Momoka that her parents won't be able to make it for her birthday. Momoka runs outside and starts crying, but Zakuro goes after her, hands her a handkerchief, and invites her to dinner. Zakuro tells Momoka that even though her parents aren't there right now, they love her 100 times more than that. The next day Momoka's parents give her a beautiful pendant from England, but the aliens want it. The daycare is having a child-parent picnic at the park, but Momoka's parents are late again. Momoka decides they aren't coming and runs off. She gets lost and ends up dropping Zakuro's handkerchief in the river. Kisshu then appears and says that he'll get her the handkerchief and return her to her parents if she'll give him the pendant. At about this time, the Mew Mews are also in the park, looking for signs of the Mew Aquas, and Zakuro sees the handkerchief in the river. Zakuro goes off to save Momoka (who was knocked unconscious by Kish) and is losing when the other aliens show up. The girls then appear and free Zakuro. The pendant turns out not to be a Mew Aqua, so Pie and Tart leave Kisshu to battle the girls by himself. Zakuro then uses her whip to stop him from returning to the alien dimension and gives him a really strong punch in the face (the girls comment that she really went "berserk" this time). After Kisshu vanishes, Momoka wakes up and Zakuro (now normal) returns the pendant and handkerchief to her. Momoka's parents and the teacher then show up and Momoka realizes that Zakuro was right afterall.

It's early at the café and Ryou has just taken a shower when Ichigo walks in on him to discuss her turning into a cat. (She throws his boxers at him. O.o;) Ryou finally gets her to go downstairs so he can change, but he leaves without speaking to her. On her way to school, Ichigo runs into a little boy with a lizard. The lizard ends up flying through the air and kisses her on the mouth so that she turns into a cat. Neko-Ichigo then pounces on a little bird (making sure it's a girl) and is able to return to normal by kissing it. XD Coming back from school, it's the same little boy and his lizard and Ichigo again turns into a cat. This time she goes after a dog, but the dog's boyfriend shows up and is about to pound poor little Neko-Ichigo into the ground for messing with his girl and forcing kisses on other small animals, when she is saved once again by Alto. The two cats make their getaway. Alto is about to leave but then walks back over to Neko-Ichigo and asks her if she is the "kissing maniac", he then grabs her and kisses her dramatically so that she turns back into a person. Alto pads off but Ichigo grabs him from behind. She says he's a lot like The Blue Knight because he keeps saving her. She is on her way back home with the struggling kitten to reward him with some kitty chow, when he starts glowing and Ichigo is knocked over. When she opens her eyes it is none other than Ryou bending over her. He gets up and says that there "isn't much he can do now that she's found out" and walks off. The next day Ichigo is in a daze trying to figure out why Ryou is Alto. She comes to realize that she can't just leave things as they are. Keiichiro then asks Ichigo to come with him and explains about Ryou's past. Five years ago in America Ryou's parents were both killed in a fire. The fire wasn't ordinary, however, but was caused by the "Chimera" that Professor Shirogane had discovered. Keiichiro had worked back then as the professor's assistant. After the incident, Keiichiro and Ryou traveled to Japan to complete the Mew Project. Ryou, not sure of the effects of the DNA on humans, tested it on himself and was turned into a cat. He cannot remain a cat for more than 10 minutes or he will be stuck that way. Ryou shows up and explains to Ichigo that he was "just doing the right thing". Ichigo says she feels sorry for him and Ryou kisses her so that she turns into a cat. Keiichiro then offers to help Neko-Ichigo regain her human form. When Ryou opens the door, the other girls fall over because they were eavesdropping, so Neko-Ichigo runs over and kisses Pudding. Ichigo stomps after Ryou and says she'll never feel pity for him, but promises to do her best. Because of this, Ichigo is more determined than ever to protect the Earth.

Ryou tells Pudding to protect the Mew Aqua from the aliens by using the Pudding Ring, however, the aliens manage to add their own energy to it, and it puts part of the city in danger of being destroyed by the upcoming explosion. The Mew Mews manage to work together to create an extension of their power, however, Masaya, who is walking by, is hit by one of the fragments of the Mew Aqua. Mew Ichigo becomes frantic, but Ryou tells her she should go with Masaya while the rest of the girls search for the remaining pieces of the Mew Aqua that have scattered about the city. Ichigo watches over Masaya and continues to talk to him just like the nurse suggested. Ichigo then says she is sorry for lying to him about being a Mew Mew and that she'll be content to watch him from afar as long as he wakes up. She starts crying and as one of her tears drops onto his cheek, he begins to wake up. The Mew Aqua that Ryou placed back under the Christmas tree has started reacting and it begins to snow. Ichigo is about to leave when Masaya bolts from the bed and suggests that they go out. The two head back to the Christmas tree and Ichigo finally decides to tell him everything. At that point Masaya interrupts her and says he already knew she was a Mew Mew, and that he himself has his secrets. His earliest memories were in an orphanage and the people around him only became friends with him because it was beneficial to themselves. Masaya then explains that with her it was always different. Ichigo points out about her cat ears and Masaya promises he'll hide them as long as she stays by his side and will cheer him up when he's sad. Ichigo then starts crying and gives him the "Tears of Christmas", which is now shining because of their love.

It's almost New Year's and Ichigo is out with Masaya. She sees a booth where you can win a ski trip and, getting all giggly and romantic, she goes for it. However, the special prize at the booth isn't what she believes it to be. Kisshu has been badly injured from his fight with Blue Knight, and Deep Blue is losing patience, so Pie and Tart devise a plan to lull Ichigo into a sleep. They create a Chimera Anima who puts a wreath of lavendar flowers around Ichigo's neck and then turns into a replica of her. The fake Ichigo enters the café and celebrates with the other girls, Keiichiro, and Ryou for their hard work. After a while, the fake Ichigo uses the wreath to transfer the Mew girls into Ichigo's dream world, where it turns back into a Chimera Anima and starts attacking them. All of their attacks backfire, and the only way the girls can escape is if Ichigo wakes up. Kisshu is enraged that Ichigo is always getting in the way of his plans, and rushes past the other two aliens and begins yelling at the sleeping Ichigo. His feelings are so strong that she wakes up and the girls are able to escape. The Chimera Anima is defeated, but Kisshu isn't through yet. He tells Ichigo that he'll be kill her if she doesn't become his. He lunges at her, but Ichigo knocks the weapon from his hands and tells him to quit being stupid. Kisshu then asks her why she doesn't listen to him and falls to the ground unconscious because he is still weak. Pie and Tart then take him away.

Episode 40
Today is Pudding's day off and she can't wait to hurry over to the Tokyo Dome to see the street performers there. Ofcourse, Pudding wants to get in on the act too, and with fifty thousand people tossing money at you, who could resist? However, the aliens have been digging a huge hole under the Tokyo Dome, and soon it will cave in. Kisshu has almost recovered from his injuries, but still needs to rest up (Pie and Tart give him a fruit basket XD). Another thing is that Masaya continues to have weird dreams. While at the show, Pudding realizes something is up and hurries underground to see what's up and finds Tart there. Tart reveals their plan to Tart and has the Chimera Animas attack her, but Pudding isn't scared at all. Tart gets angry that Pudding won't cry. The Chimera goes out of control and the ceiling caves in on top of them. Meanwhile, Keiichiro and Ryou have discovered the aliens' plan and have the girls head over to the Tokyo Dome right away. The Mew girls must also fight more of the Chimera Animas, but that's not all. If everyone inside the dome panics, the whole thing will collapse so it is up to the girls to support it until everyone is out safely. Tart yanks Pudding out of the mud and she thanks him by giving him a piece of candy. Tart still can't get Pudding to cry and that really annoys him, but he tells her that he can easily teleport out whereas she is stuck there. The dome eventually gives out and starts to come down on them. At the last minute, Tart says it'd be boring if she died and uses his powers to make trees grow up and support the dome that the Mew girls can no longer hold. He also teleports Pudding and himself out of there. Pudding wakes up and calls Taru-Taru her friend. Tart yells at her to stop calling him that and flies away moodily, but as he heads back to the aliens' dimension, we can see that he seems pretty happy about the candy he received.

Episode 41
There's a meeting in the basement. The gang has detected a large number of Fish Chimeras out at sea. The aliens are using them to keep the Mew Mews busy while a very strong Chimera Anima gains power in the middle of the ocean and prepares to pollute the water. Lettuce is sure that there must be a peaceful way to settle all of this, but talking doesn't seem to be an option. Ryou takes Lettuce, Ichigo, and Pudding on a boat with him while Keiichiro, Mint, and Zakuro take another one and Masha watches from the air. The only problem is - it's the middle of winter and the water is freezing! The fish soon come up to attack but there are too many of them and the girls are outnumbered. Masha finds the main Chimera, but an attack from Pie sends him crashing down. Ryou then orders the others to go with Keiichiro to create a distraction so that he and Lettuce can check out what's going on where Masha went down at. The Chimera emerges and knocks the boat over and both Ryou and Lettuce into the depths of the ocean. Ryou falls further and further away and it most definately seems he will drown. Lettuce is determined to save him and pleads with Pie to let her pass. Finally she manages to get past him, and upon reaching Ryou, activates the Mew Aqua hanging around his neck. She then kisses the unconscious boy, begging him not to die, and swims to the surface. The light from the Mew Aqua destroys the Chimera Anima, while in the meantime the others have taken care of the fish (a smart combo of the Pudding Ring Inferno and Mint Echo, with a final attack from Ichigo and Zakuro taking care of Tart). Lettuce finally manages to wake Ryou up, who thanks her, but is now freezing and starts to sneeze (this part is really funny). Keiichiro then jokes that there is only room for 5 people in the boat, to which he complains and continues sneezing.

Episode 42
Another Mew Aqua is on the move, but that's not the only thing. Zakuro has been offered a role in a Hollywood movie, but that means that she'll have to leave Tokyo Mew Mew and go to America. Zakuro tells the girls that she hasn't decided for sure, but that her leaving is a possibility. Mint insists on going with her, but Zakuro refuses to let her. Meanwhile, news from Kish's planet has him worried. The conditions there are getting worse, and finding the Mew Aqua soon is critical if there's any hope of awakening Deep Blue. The girls head to the harbor in search of the Mew Aqua and find Zakuro and the aliens there already. There's just one problem: Zakuro isn't transforming. The aliens realize that the girls don't know where the Mew Aqua is, and leave, but not after Mint blocks Zakuro from an attack and gets hurt. Zakuro made no move to save her. Ichigo is really worrying over this and goes to consult Ryou, however, Zakuro is already talking to him. She comes out and tells Ichigo to watch over Mint since she worries easily, and leaves. The girls gather again in the basement. Ryou explains that it was Zakuro's decision to leave, but Ichigo won't allow it. She insists that they go find Zakuro and try to help her, because you can't just give up being a Mew Mew. The girls hurry off to the church where they find Zakuro... and Kishu.

episode43.jpg

Episode 43
The girls find Zakuro and Kisshu together at the church where he reveals that Deep Blue is going to use the power of the Mew Aqua to awaken himself. Kisshu reminds the other girls that Zakuro is not their ally because she did not fight, and asks Zakuro to help him. The two teleport off, where Kisshu says a bit of why he wants the Mew Aqua, and leaves Zakuro there. Meanwhile, Ryou and Keiichiro have discovered that a group of swans have the Mew Aqua, and call the Mew Mews to meet them in an area which acts as a reserve. It seems Mint can communicate with the birds, and they reveal their feelings to her. They are bringing the Mew Aqua to them so that they will be saved. However, Tart and Pie appear to claim the Mew Aqua. The other girls transform, but Mint will not because she is still affected by Zakuro's betrayal. Ryou tells her to transform, and she explains to him that she can't. The swan absorbs the Mew Aqua (Mint would not help it) and flies off. Everyone is thinking on what Zakuro had said. Back at the cafe, Pudding has her compatability machine again. After a failed attempt to cheer Mint up (Mint and Zakuro get along at 20%) and Mint leaving, Pudding suggests that she test Ryou and Lettuce, to which Lettuce protests quickly and nervously (it's really very cute). At the same time, Ichigo asks Ryou about what Zakuro said to him. Zakuro had told Ryou that, even though the fighting was getting more serious, that they were only little girls. Keiichiro comes in to tell them that Mint and Zakuro are fighting,a dn the girls run off to stop them. Zakuro and Mint are in a field. Mint asks Zakuro if she really betrayed them, to which Zakuro questions "what if I did?". Mint then determines to fight Zakuro and transforms. The two begin to battle until the others intervene. Ichigo explains that they cannot fight each other, no matter what. Out of nowhere, a twister appears and traps the birds inside. It's the aliens. Mint flies up, using her strong feelings to summon the Mew Aqua from inside the swan. Ichigo then uses the power to materialize the Mew Aqua Rod and stop the twister. Zakuro admits that she lost, and explains why she visits the church. She lost a man who was very close to her because they doubted each other, so she had been upset when the others got all fired up by a rumor. She tells the others that the aliens have a lot on their minds as well, which is why she was with Kish. Zakuro appologizes for her actions.

Episode 44
The episode starts off with a rather exciting bug-squashing relay in Cafe Mew Mew before Ryou and Keiichiro call the girls to the basement. They have uncovered data that indicates that in ancient times the aliens actually created the Mew Aqua, and that up to this point, what they have been finding may be mere fragments of ther "True Mew Aqua". Ryou warns the girls that from now on, the fighting will get much more severe. Behind the cafe, Ichigo is lost in her thoughts when Ryou sneaks up on her, appologizes, and asks her if she'd scared about what might happen. She admits that she is a bit scared, but Ryou assures her that he'll be a shield for her and the other girls. Just then her cellphone rings and she rushes off to meet Aoyama-kun for a date in Harajuku. They pass a bridal shop, and ofcourse Ichigo makes a comment of how pretty the wedding dress in the window is. Masaya says she'd look great in it, and the red-head goes into her own little day-dream sequence. Masaya's been having repeated dreams where Ichigo is crying, and he's really worried. When a sudden storm comes up, he's worried that Ichigo is crying and tells her that he wants her to always be happy. Ichigo cheerfully explains that she was only a bit startled and if that's the case, she'll always smile. Afterwards, a rainbow paints the sky.The next day, Harajuku has turned into a massive forest, so ofcourse Tokyo Mew Mew hurries over to investigate. Not only have the trees become huge, but also the bugs, and we come to find out that Zakuro has a weakness against them (XD). However, once the aliens arrive, and Tart turns the tree containing a "Mew Aqua" into a Chimera Anima, the girls start dropping quickly. Yes, humans need oxygen to survive, but when too much is provided, they cannot survive. Sensing something is wrong, Ryou grabs some dragees (things used to help people breathe underwater) from Keiichiro and rushes off to help, transforming into Alto to save time. AS the girls fall, only Ichigo remains, struggling to stay on her feet. When she sees the tattered wedding dress that she and Aoyama-kun had admired on their date yesterday, she becomes determined to fight with everything she has, but she can't do it. Alto jumps in to save her, and at the same time, the Blue Knight appears. As Ichigo is carried to safety, she murmurs that she knew along... until she realizes that she's in Ryou's arms, but Blue Knight is standing a few feet off. After explaining the use of the items and making sure the girls are all okay, Ryou orders them to attack. The fake Mew Aqua fades from the tree, and the girls combine their powers to defeat it. Ichigo is left thoroughly confused. If Ryou isn't the Blue Knight... then who is?

episode45.jpg

Episode 45
The Blue Knight and Ryou appear in the same place at the same time, so Ryou isn't the Blue Knight after all (Ichigo was sure he was)... So then, who *is* the Blue Knight? Ichigo decides to make Valentine's chocolate for Masaya and asks Keiichiro to show her how. Ichigo's first attempt at cooking is an utter disaster and even poor Pudding is unable to stand it, but through her determination, and with a little guidance from pro, she is able to make some for him. Ichigo's walking down the street with her chocolate for Masaya, when she is confronted by Kisshu who again tries to persuade her to come with him. Kisshu wants to take her to a place where the two of them can be alone together and there is no fighting. When Ichigo refuses, Kisshu attempts to kill her. Before she can transform, Kisshu knocks her pendant out of the way and grabs it. But then Masaya shows up. He gets cut in the arm because of an explosion, and even though Ichigo tells him to run, he refuses and insists on protecting her. Masaya then transforms into the Blue Knight right in front of Ichigo and Kish, but he's in trouble when Kisshu goes into an insane rage and attacks him. The other girls and Ryou appear to help and hear Ichigo call the Blue Knight "Aoyama-kun". Ichigo risks her life to save Masaya. Kisshu is upset, but the truth slowly sinks in, so he leaves them. Blue Knight then changes back into Masaya and Ichigo is able to give him the chocolate. They walk off hand-in-hand into the sunset, oblivious to everything. Kisshu is left to wonder what exactly this "Blue Knight" is.

Episode 46
Aoyama-kun is continuing to have the same dreams, including one where Ichigo invites him to the cafe so that he can be introduced into the Mew Mew team. Masaya is worried that something awful is going to happen to Ichigo and doesn't want her fighting. The next day at school, the very event he dreamt about comes to pass, but he agrees to it. At the cafe, Masaya is welcomed by all of the residents save one who seems concerned about him joining them - Ryou. Ryou tells Aoyama that he'd better be serious about protecting the Earth, and that they'll all have to work together. It seems Ryou is worried that the Blue Knight's presence will only distract Ichigo, that and perhaps a simple little thing known as jealousy. Zakuro catches on to this and asks Ryou if it's such a good idea to let the Blue Knight join, saying she's concerned for the same reason. The Mews and Aoyama-kun take off to Tennozu Isle where an odd light has been emitting from the waters there. Pie and Tart also have their eyes on the location which could lead them to another Mew Aqua. The water in the harbor is extremely clean, as Pudding finds out. When the aliens appear, Pie summons a bunch of Chimera Anima to attack the Mews and is able to charge up his fan due thanks to a storm that arises. Pudding and Tart dive underwater only to find that the light source isn't a Mew Aqua. This seems to be yet another pointless fight. Working together, Aoyama and the girls defeat the Chimera Anima, Ichigo being able to power up the Blue Knight's blade. With that over, the episode ends with Ryou solemnly looking on as Ichigo and Masaya chat together.

Episode 47
The aliens have a new mission - to target and destroy the Blue Knight. Tart's a bit skeptical, but Pie on the otherhand is determined to follow through with Deep Blue's orders. Meanwhile at the cafe, Ryou and Keiichiro are trying to unravel the mysteries around the recent phenomenon that have been occuring, with little success. The big news among the Mew Mews, however, is that Masaya is now working the cafe as a waiter. The customers are all over him, but luckily Ichigo doesn't mind, because she thinks he's awesome as well. Ryou appears while Ichigo is aiding Masaya with an order. Ichigo insists that he'll never make friends if he continues to be rude all the time; that Masaya is now their partner. Walking home, Masaya admits that he's a bit jealous of her relationship with Ryou, but she tells him not to worry. The next day at school, Ichigo's daydreaming about her boyfriend when the aliens' newest Chimera Anima attacks. Masaya joins her in the hallway and they head out hand-in-hand to fight it. The Chimera proves extremely tough for the team, and soon the girls are trapped in its tentacles. Pie and Tart appear, telling Blue Knight if he doesn't drop his sword, Ichigo will be killed. The aliens then attack him, and he is helpless to do anything, determined to protect Ichigo til the end. Ichigo then takes matters into her own hands, summoning her "true power" and breaking free in order to rescue the one she loves. The aliens are forced to retreat, but not before the onlooking Kisshu begins to think that this great power did not come from Ichigo...

Episode 48
Barbeque! Yum yum! But ofcourse Ryou doesn't believe in a day off, so he has the girls hike up a rough trail to a strange-looking rock formation. Masaya tags along; lately he's been having a strange dream in which Ichigo is crying, and this worries him. Suddenly it gets dark and the rocks cave in - no doubt the aliens are behind this. The ground gives way and all the Mew girls and Blue Knight become seperated. Apparently, without Ichigo around, Masaya loses his ability to transform. Kisshu then appears before Masaya in attempts to destroy him, and uses his weapon to send lightning through the rock walls. He is about to finish off Masaya, but Ichigo intervenes. Kisshu then goes after Ichigo, but Masaya transforms into Blue Knight once more and the two aliens begin fighting. However, it soon becomes apparent that something is up with Masaya. A huge beam surrounds him and he seems to be in great pain. However, Kisshu is most certainly not complaining about this. In fact, he seems overjoyed. The other Mews are teleported to where Ichigo is and the entire area explodes because of the energy coming from Blue Knight. When the dust clears there is a huge crater where the rock formation used to be. Everyone makes it out okay, but Kisshu is still laughing about something...

Episode 49
Ichigo's late for work again, but the guys have decided to close the café. They're really worried about the final battle and are sure that something is about to happen, so the give the girls time to refresh themselves. There's a meeting in the basement to discuss a lingering energy that has come up on radar from the animals in Tokyo. Afterwards, Ryou is alone in the darkened café, looking destressed. Lettuce then shows up and offers him some cake which he accepts with a small smile. There are then scenes of the rest of the girls going about their everyday lives. Ichigo goes to visit the kendo team, but Masaya isn't there. One of the other members tells her he never showed up. Ichigo tries calling him on his cellphone, but he doesn't pick up. The phone is lying beside his computer, while Masaya is stumbling through the streets. His mother calls and tells Ichigo that he's been missing. Kisshu has a plan, however Pie isn't too happy about it. He is planning to take the spirit from the Blue Knight, so that Deep Blue will not have to be awakened, and so that their planet can be saved (Kisshu doesn't trust Deep Blue). Pie refuses to agree to his plan, so the two become enemies. Tart goes with Kish. The aliens release all of the previous Chimera Animas over the city. Ryou and Keiichiro then dispatch the Mew Mews to take care of them. When the girls are finally gaining the upper hand, Ryou tells them to find Masaya, who is at the center of a new, powerful energy. When Ichigo finds Masaya, he is laying still on the ground, surrounded by the aliens. Kisshu could not coax his spirit out. When she gets closer, Masaya starts glowing and switching between himself and the Blue Knight, then there's a huge blast of energy. Things don't look good. Ryou punches the wall and blames himself for not being able to do anything. When the dust starts to clear, a tall figure is standing before the Mew Mews and the aliens. At first it seems to be Blue Knight, but then his eyes burn red and he sends out a strong wind. Getting a good look at him, the girls realize that this isn't Blue Knight - this pale, dark haired figure is Deep Blue, the aliens' leader, and he's prepared to destroy Tokyo and the rest of the planet.

Episode 50
Masaya has just turned into Deep Blue. Ichigo is confused and afraid by this. Realizing danger is ahead, the girls and Ichigo try to remind Deep Blue of who he was, but he refuses to listen. Meanwhile, back at the cafe, Ryou runs out in hopes of helping the girls. Keiichiro tells him to return safely. Ichigo tries her best to get through to Deep Blue, reminding him of their time together with the bell Masaya gave her in hand, but Deep Blue simply knocks it away. Pudding is angered and so begins the attack against Deep Blue. None of the Mew Mews attacks even connect with him, and they are knocked back against a wall and detransform. Ichigo is now the only Mew Mew who can fight, and the other aliens begin to feel sorry for her. While Deep Blue is destroying part of Tokyo, the ground beneath Ichigo caves in and she falls into a huge ravine. *Insert scene of Ryou on his motorbike racing towards the battlefield.* Pie explains a lot about Deep Blue to Ichigo who had grabbed onto the edge before falling to her doom. Ichigo finally gathers the willpower to attack Deep Blue, but he easily holds her attack back. Ichigo's body weakens, but luckily Alto leaps into the scene, scratching Deep Blue. Changing back into his human form, Ryou grabs Ichigo and jumps across the hole towards the others. Ichigo appologizes to Ryou because she can't fight Deep Blue, but Ryou explains to her just who she is and that she has to fight. The other girls comes towards them, and Ryou pulls out a fragment of Mew Aqua which will allow them to transform. Ichigo then poses determinedly near the others, bringing a smile from Ryou, and the girls jump into action to attack Deep Blue together and save the Earth.

episode51.jpg

Episode 51
Ryou has just saved Ichigo from Deep Blue and tells her that she must fight. However, the other aliens still stand between them and Deep Blue's dome. Pie summons a Chimera Anima which is the same as the one that Dr. Shirogane found fossilized - the one that later burned down Ryou's house and killed both of his parents. Zakuro urges Ichigo to go on ahead, and Tart stops Pie from attacking her. Because of this, Pie kills his comrade for his disobedience to Deep Blue. Pudding then rushes over to his body. Lettuce cannot believe that Pie would do such a thing, and so the girls are forced to battle with the Chimera and Pie. Meanwhile, Ichigo is making her way through Deep Blue's fortress, with the bell Masaya gave her in her hand. She finally reaches Deep Blue, but he immediately makes a move to kill her. The bell appears to be absolutely useless in reaching him. At about the same time the Chimera dives after Ryou, but Lettuce comes to his rescue. Kisshu then appears and asks Deep Blue if he can finish off Ichigo. As he approaches her he suddenly dissapears and reappears with his blade to Deep Blue's throat. He only has time for one strike, however, Deep Blue was quicker and he shoves the dying Kisshu away from him. Ichigo bends over Kisshu and starts crying. Kisshu tries to raise his head to kiss her on the mouth, but he doesn't manage to reach her before his last breath. Ichigo forces herself to get up and fight with Deep Blue, no matter how much pain she is in emotionally. Suddenly Deep Blue starts screaming and giving off enormous energy. This energy is enough to destroy the Chimera, but it will destroy the Mew Mews as well! Pie then brings out his fans in an attempt to cancel out the energy - but he dies in the process. Everyone's hopes now rest on Ichigo. However, back in the fortress everything seems hopeless until Ichigo rings the bell one last time. Suddenly Deep Blue drops his sword and his complexion gets darker. Could it be that Ichigo was able to reach out to Masaya after all?

episode52.jpg

Episode 52
Deep Blue's expression has softened, as Ichigo was able to reach Masaya's spirit. Masaya feels very sorry for all of the things that he had done as Deep Blue. Ichigo then hugs him tightly and he begins to glow. At this point, both he and Ichigo realize that the Mew Aqua is inside of him. Suddenly he grabs Ichigo by the neck and Deep Blue's spirit takes over once again and he is more angry than ever. Masaya finally manages to hold him off enough so that he drops Ichigo, and the two are battling inside Deep Blue's mind. It seems like Deep Blue is the victor, but suddenly Masaya's spirit rises out of Deep Blue's body and yanks out the spirit of Deep Blue so that his body falls motionless to the ground. Masaya then explains to Ichigo that she must destroy Deep Blue. Ichigo refuses, but after a little coaxing on Masaya's part, and a power boost from her friends, Ichigo is prepared to finish this fight. It takes a while, but finally the Strawberry Check Surprise does the trick, and Ichigo realizes too late that by destorying Deep Blue, Masaya is also going to be destroyed. Ichigo starts screaming and runs towards Masaya as the Mew Aqua is dispersed from his body and showers over Tokyo. The girls are revived and flowers begin to sprout from the ground and around the lifeless bodies of the aliens. Ichigo is floating down through the sky and catches up to Masaya's body, then she kisses him. The Mew Aqua (in a crystal form) falls and lands beside Kish's body and you can see Masaya and Ichigo lying there a little ways off. The girls and Ryou are looking up at the dome worried for Ichigo, and the girls use their powers to teleport to her. In the meantime, Pie and Tart have woken up. Masaya then comes to, but when he shakes Ichigo, she isn't moving. He fears that she is dead. The other girls run to Masaya and Ichigo, and realize that Ichigo *is* dead. They all begin crying and they turn back to their normal forms. Pudding tries to transform and can't, while Zakuro realizes what has happened - there's no longer a reason to fight. The dome then starts to break apart. Kisshu appears with the Mew Aqua and the other aliens; they say a quick goodbye and teleport Masaya and the girls back to the Earth below. They then power up the dome and zip off into the dark sky. Ryou runs over to the gang and he is shocked to see that Ichigo is dead. Everyone is really upset until Masaya kisses Ichigo. She begins to glow and floats up into the air. Her ears and tail disappear and we see the Iriomote Wildcat bound away. Ichigo then falls into Masaya's arms and wakes up. She grabs Masaya around the neck and hugs him (nearly kicking Ryou's face in the process XD), then jumps up and hugs each of the girls. Everyone is smiling and happy now. Later Ichigo and Masaya are talking off by themselves and holding hands.
